Ihave been looking for a new hobby and this hobby seem to catch my att. fully. I was just looking for insight on what would be good to start out with with RC Planes. The one plane I was looking at is on Hobby Lobby Super scale F-16 ARF with 80mm fan , outrunner motor , and 45a ESC. Just wondering if this would be an ok plane to start out with and if it is worth the price.

No, it would not be a good starter plane. R/C is like life. You need to crawl before you can walk. Get set-up with a full-house trainer, and an instructor pilot, and learn the correct, economical way. Visit your local flying club and see what's out there. Talk to other pilots and instructors, and follow their recommendations. Also stop over in the beginners forum here, on RCU.
If you don't start out right, you may, or may not learn to fly, but you will spend a large amount of cash.

Thank you very much, the only problem with that is and I have been looking is I can not find any clubs that are within an hour of me. I hace check out a few sites that show clubs. I am not even sure what a good started plane would look like lol. But as you had said it is like life going to have its up and downs.

a good trainer plane looks like this one below. They are not the most prettiest or scale looking planes, but they will teach you the fundamentals of how to fly which for now is far more important. You should look for something with a high wing and stable flight characteristics.

I would get a simulator first, and practice on it, while you find a club, or LHS that can help you find your first plane.

To find a club in New Jersey go here:http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx
They list quite a few clubs in N.J.

Do like I did. There are no pilot trainers within an hours drive from me so I bought a simulator, Real Flight. I spent 1 month on it before I attempted to solo. The sim helped me a great deal. It is not like real world flying but it will prepare you for the basics maneuvers. I bet I did 1000s of touch and goes before I soloed.
I was able to fly from day one, the only adverse thing was I was so jacked up that it was flying around at full speed for 5 minutes before I remembered I had a throttle on the plane.

I put zip code 08260 in the search box of http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx and the first club listed has a field near Rt 9 and 668 (Main St) in South Seaville. That looks like about 20 miles on the map. My drive to the field is 45 miles each way.

Before you choose a plane, or any equipment at all, contact the club and arrange to meet the instructors. If you start with stuff they are comfortable with it will probably make it easier for them and for you.

Thank you very much guys for all the help. The club that was said by carrellh is only about 10 mins from my house, just still waiting for a response from one of there members. Hopefully they get back to me because this seems like something that I can really get into and enjoy.

If you don't get an email reply, try to call the contact number listed on the AMA site. Some people are terrible with email but do answer the phone.

Guys I just wanted to say thank you for all your help. The club I got in touch with I will be meeting up this week to make sure it is something I can get into and the great thing about it all is I will learn from there planes before I have to go out and buy my own. So hopefully all will work out and this is a hobby I can come to enjoy. Again Thank you for all the help.
