You are right, this is an extraordinarily rare event. Usually there is some other factor that is involved that may be known, or unknown to you. We are very anxious to speak with you tomorrow at some point. We believe we have your e-mail on file and Mike has already sent you an e-mail. We won't be in the office until tomorrow afternoon 12:00 PST. Please give us a call some time after that. If at all possible can you take a picture of the remains of the battery and reply to Mikes e-mail with that picture. We probably won't be able to gain any insight from it, but it would be nice to have. We will want to see that charger back for testing. After you take a picture, you can dispose of the battery, do not try and send it back.
We will be expecting your call or an E-mail with your phone number so we get you all fixed up and try to determine what happened.
