Default RE: Bauer Modelle ME-262 A1 Question

Jascat100,

Thanks for the tip.

LGM,

I hear ya, I have never seen anything like this before. I can undersand prevention of shipping damage, but good ole newspaper inside the fuse would be fine I guess.

I ended up starting to remove it. I did use some acetone to break the foam loose and it is working, but time consuming. I got the front section pretty much done just need to clean up the little bit still stuck to the inside of the nose section. I can see the quality of the glass work and it is very nice. The gelcoat on the outside is OK, couple of chips in it, but I would probably sand it down anyways so I can see the placement of the formers and get that straight and then start the normal,...prim, fill, sand (repeat many times) until the fuse is ready for panel lines and scale details. I will scuff the fuse down a little bit after I get all the foam removed and inside cleaned up but that will be as far as I will go with the model. I would like to have this up on the market by this weekend.

Looking online and doing some more research I think that, with everything included and the quality of the components (minus the foam in the fuse!!!), the model is worth about $1,700-$2,000.00 in its current state. Please advise if you guys feel that this is way out in left field. Compared current models of it's size and quality and this is the best I can cme up with.

I will post some more pictures after I get the inside cleaned up. Take care.
