Bauer Modelle ME-262 A1 Question

Guys,
I have acquired a Bauer Modelle ME-262 A1 (82.08" WS / 69.56" Length / 1/6 scale?) in a trade and trying to find and information on it. It is a older German kit (90's?) and very high quality from what I can see so far. It is complete with all formers, fan units, plans, etc, but does not have the landing gear. I will probably resell the kit and looking for as much information on it that I can get before I list it. Questions so far......
1. What is the value of the kit?
2. If I were to buy landing gear for it, is there anybody still producing scale gear for it?
Thanks for your time and replies. Couple of pictures included.

Great for EDF conversion. The lack of spare parts will be a sticking point. As far as gear, I do not know of anyone, but it should not be difficult to adapt a set. The mains are probably pretty standard with the nose being a bit odd due to its 110ish degree retraction swing?

I received the ME 262 yesterday and started going through everything. The quality is very good and the kit is very complete. This is definitely a builders kit. I am planning on selling the model as I only got this in a trade and not going to build it, but do have another question. Was is common for the kit manufacture to spray expanding foam in the model to prevent damage during shipping? With some work the foam will come out but wondering if there is any faster method for taking the foam out, like some sort of solvent that will not harm the fiberglass and primer. I plan on leaving it in for shipment but if you guys think I should take the foam out to help sell it I will get cracking on removing it.
Still trying to figure out what this kit is worth. It seems to be a rare/collectors kit, as I have not heard anything about it. The quality also seems to be very high. Any inputs as to the value would be great.
Pictures of the foam inside the fuse.

Not sure if it is meant to be in there? I would try & remove most of it with a screwdriver, then carefully use some acetone to melt the rest.

Jascat100,
Thanks for the tip.
LGM,
I hear ya, I have never seen anything like this before. I can undersand prevention of shipping damage, but good ole newspaper inside the fuse would be fine I guess.
I ended up starting to remove it. I did use some acetone to break the foam loose and it is working, but time consuming. I got the front section pretty much done just need to clean up the little bit still stuck to the inside of the nose section. I can see the quality of the glass work and it is very nice. The gelcoat on the outside is OK, couple of chips in it, but I would probably sand it down anyways so I can see the placement of the formers and get that straight and then start the normal,...prim, fill, sand (repeat many times) until the fuse is ready for panel lines and scale details. I will scuff the fuse down a little bit after I get all the foam removed and inside cleaned up but that will be as far as I will go with the model. I would like to have this up on the market by this weekend.
Looking online and doing some more research I think that, with everything included and the quality of the components (minus the foam in the fuse!!!), the model is worth about $1,700-$2,000.00 in its current state. Please advise if you guys feel that this is way out in left field. Compared current models of it's size and quality and this is the best I can cme up with.
I will post some more pictures after I get the inside cleaned up. Take care.

FWIW the Airworld Me262 is $1200.painted . with pretty good detail, the only problem is that the forward shape of the nacelles (intakes) are larger that on the full scale . Robart gear 645 for nose & 630 for mains.
May you get what you want out the kit.

Uncljoe,
Thanks for the inputs, I though the Airworld kit was $1400.00, I need to go back and read the site again, maybe I got my numbers mixed up. From what I gather the Bauer Modelle kit has very good scale outlines and a little more accurate than the Airworld kit. There were koku-fan drawing in the kit and from what I see the Bauer Modelle is very close. I was thinking pricing due to the fact that I have the fan units also, but maybe I am thinking too high a value. With the times, EDF and turbines, I do know that the fan units are a little outdated. I appreciate the input and it will be used when finding a final fiqure to price the model at. Please keep the inputs coming. I have no experience with the ME262 and all inputs, good or bad are welcome. Take care.

Hello Jason:
I make models too in fiber glass and I not paint and no apply primer, because if the model is painted into the mold, the external finish is really good. I think that model is made in lost mold technique but I am not entirely sure.
I put photos of my home made Bobcat with mold and the home made Bandit in lost mold.
You look at the difference.
Carlos.

The models looks like it was built up in halves and then joined together. The work is very nice but why the foam in the model after it was joined is beyond me. The gel coat needs to be sanded off and primed but should turn out to be a nice model.
On the positive, the wood for the build it top quality, and the wings and stabs are very nice contruction.
Thanks for pointing that out uncljoe, I was wrong and way off price I guess. Boy did I get taken on this trade then. I was told is was worth way more. Of well it looks like it will go for less then I hoped, nothing new I guess, for me! [>:]

Uncljoe,
Very nice looking models you have, thanks for sharing. The Bauer Modelle is slightly bigger than the Airworld model @ 80.02" WS 1/6 scale according to the plans included with the model.
OK, almost done with the foam removal. After eight hours I am down to getting out the residue left from the foam. Need some advice to help get this stuff out. I have used acetone with a nylon golf club brush and I am still having a hard time get this to lift from the fiberglass. I need something that will dissolve the residue and not harm the fiberglass, in the rudder area I don't have a lot of room to work with so I need something that will help without needing to be scrubbed. Again any advise is welcome and I really appreciate it. Thanks and take care.

Looks like you made a good job getting the foam out. The only other thing I can think of, is to attach some rough sanding belt paper to a piece of shaped wood & work on it with that. It should clean up a bit better.

Thanks Jascat100,
Your tip with the acetone worked out great. I guess the inside of the fuse needs to be sanded anyways, but I would have though the acetone would take the residue away also. I have some goo gone that will work on fiberglass, so I might give that a try with a scrub brush also. I want to get every bit out of the inside if I can, I don't want any potential buyer to have to deal with it. The hardest part is going to be the vertical stab. No room to really work in there. Guess I need to be patient and it will eventually all come out. Was hoping to get this on the market this weekend but I don't know if I will have the residue removed by then. Take care and thanks for the help.

The last price I have on an Airworld Me262 kit is $1378. Also, Airworld has stopped production on this kit. The Airworld Me262 is a full composite jet with panel lines and rivets molded into it. There are some close comparisons between the two kits, but I would say the Airworld model is closer to being an ARF with live hinged control surfaces and a one-piece wing. I've seen your kit for sale and I'd say you have it priced about right, there are many modelers that would buy this kit so they can build what they want into it. Anyway there's my two cents worth. Good luck to you on selling it.
