They wouldn't let me join CAP because I was too young and then by the time I was old enough, I had already flown the Space Shuttle so I just never joined. []

Anyhow, I was fortunate to have seen both the Concorde and SR-71 (I think) a few times and can attest to them both being very fast, (or so I've heard) After that initial bump past Mach 1, it all becomes numbers, although the windows do get a bit warm after a while, then there's that fuselage stretch just aft of the engineers panel on the Concorde that is always comforting to know.

. . . "The Dart", "Bat", "Glider", anything that I could make out of paper that flew. Concorde was always one of my favorite planes because "The Arrow", paper airplane looked so much like it, and it went the furthest and fastest when you threw it! I was able to talk my parents into getting a plastic model of a Concorde when I was like 7 so that I could make it as a birthday gift for my brother who was going to be 5, partly because I liked it so much, but more importantly because I knew he wouldn't want it and I could keep it, but that would be a way of me getting it sooner because his birthday was a month before mine!

Sure would be nice to see the Concorde fly again.
