I do the same thing with my Superbee and Rabbit using a 12Z. Never had any issues. By changing the number of "steps" in the throttle trim, you would only have to hit the trim button once in either direction for full travel. Only reason I put mine on a switch was to have my "kill" in the same location as on my prop models.
