The first thing to check is the connections. If you are using any extensions, their connections are often problems. The second is to make sure you have adequate size leads, especially on the power leads (the signal lead carries very little current and can be a smaller gage) and make sure the battery is adequate. Any high impedance in the battery, battery leads or switch can cause this.
The servos plug directly to the receiver.
No issues with connections - larger gauge wire and good connectors (Dean"s)

I'll revisit the soldered connections and verify everything is looking good.
Can I test impedence from the ESC motoer wire to the motor lead where it enter the motor, with an ohm meter?
What measurement would I be looking for?
