I know that's why I posted-I've never screwed it all the way in until i put it on the bench. After I began testing I screwed it in to get a reference. My question, I guess can this be normal or should it be flush with the housing. I will change the plug and see if that helps. Like I said though the low range and High seem fine-lots of power and good transition at current setting. Spinning a 15x7 three blade at 9200+. Just bothers me at 1/2 throttle crusing around looking like I have a smoke system on.
Maybe I should clean the regulator out???? Is their a way to test the spring??

PS-the starting needle settings in the manual state-1 1/4 for the High, 3 turns out on the low (110S) which is different than the older 110. Nothing on the regulator for reference.
Cleaning the regulator won't hurt. Testing the spring....just replace it if you are in doubt. It is so small I'm not sure what testing jig you would need to get verifiable readings from.
