Do you mean a small space on the motor or for a cowl mount?
On some engines, turning the carb around puts the throttle arm behind the cylinder which can make it harder to connect the pushrod or cable. I think the "small space" is the area between the engine and firewall.
I'd turn the carb around and test fit the engine to see if the linkage will work with the existing pushrod location.
