ok guys.
thats my story from greece.
i run this engine on my qq yak 54 73'' with a 18-6w apc prop.
as a result the engine runs grate on the ground but... on the air at full throtlle it kind of misses or stals or sounds like running too lean.
ok. i take it down to the ground turning the needle to enrich the mixture and on the air again. result...not enough power.
running a 20-6 wooden prop, elliminates the problem but climbing is redused.
trying different fuels (nitro percentage) did not notice any diference.
on the ground 18-6w showed 8400 and 20-6 showed 7400 rpm.

i just can not get the power out of this engine.
do you think i should try a 18-8 prop??? since 18-6 (in my opinion) causes the float valve faenomenon.
helpppppppp.......[&o][&o][&o]
by the way what is the valve clearance for this engine since there is no reference in the manual??
i have to admit one thing....... idle is the best i have ever experinced in a 4 stroke engine.....just great.
Did anybody find a cure for this ailment? I'm having the same issue (running 18X6 APC Prop), runs great on ground, but in the air there is no power. However Mine sounds like it is sick and loading up in the air (sounds too rich), no matter how lean I set the needle valve.
