You are correct on the jumper and the select port.

I have the Hitec-08RD and a JR 662 radio and my channels are:
Channel1: Throttle
Channel2: Ailerons
Channel3: Elevator
Channel4: Rudder
Channel5: Landing Gear
Channel6: Flaps
Channel7B: Battery

Yours may be different depending on Rx and Tx.
