With the 18.1 x10 pattern prop the reed valves are the louder than any thing.   That's on the ground anyway.  I have my motor box lined with acoustical foam specially designed for high frequencies.  Most of the reed sound is coming out of the front of the cowl.  No way to dampen it.  I am tempted to line the inside of the cowl with the foam also.
