Those stock servos that come with that car are...well...not good.

It sounds like you may have broken some of the gear teeth off.

Take the servo out and open it up, slowly and gently so nothing comes falling out and have a look inside.

If the gears are shredded off, you can buy rebuild kits at your LHS or just upgrade to a better servo with metal gears.
