These pipes cost more new than the engine cost new

Unless you can find a used pipe at a good price, they are not cost effective.

Pipe= $85

Header= $29.99

New HB.61 PDP= $187.00

Granted, I could just purchase a new Magnum, but I already own a HB. 61 PDP. To me cost effective would be to purchase the pipe and header verses the new engine, pipe, and header. (I have a new Magnum I am mounting a pipe to already in another aircraft.)

If Jett offered their tuned muffler to fit this engine, I'd probably go that route.

Also, Mecoa offers a header and tuned pipe. I believe the header is around $30, and the pipe is $65.

Having limited experience with engines and tuned pipes, I'm simply trying to gather information before I purchase. This is the route I prefer because this is the route the classic pattern ships went.

While Jett might not list your older engine, that does not mean that there isn't a tuned muffler that might fit or fit with a little modification. Give Dubb Jett a call and see what he can do for you.

All the best,
