If you're trying to save money, go ahead and switch the servos around and see what happens. If the problem occurs on the throttle/brake you know it's the servo.
Honestly though, I personally feel those servos are right there on the bottom of the quality list. Using a cheap servo is how the company can offer you a RTR for such a good price.
Even the servos in a RTR Losi aren't that good. It's always one of the first thing everyone seems to replace....at least that's what I've read here.
You really do get what you pay for when it comes to servos.
BTW....Water and electrics don't mix unless it's been water proofed.
