I`ve been much inspired by this thread.Just ordered the AMD Challenger and will convert to electric brushless with the battery in the nose to balance.I imagine I should get a flying weight of approx 3000g.I have a Hi-tec Pro x 2.4 wireless (200mw) video which I will use (very light).

I`ll need to look around my 5 year old daughters bedroom to find a suitable pilot! Will see what I can do regarding pilot movement!

Anybody else got any ideas?

Wow,that was quick! AMD Challenger just arrived,only ordered from Japan 4 days ago!!

All looks pretty good,undamaged and intact.Looks like this is going to make a nice project,.

Good look. What will be the configuration to electric brusshles power (motor and battery)?

In the web site of cue air pictures, inside of pilot bear, they are describe the system to the pilot movements.

Well, the motor will be an outrunner (800w) plus 60amp opto speed controller and 4-6 s lipo,not sure on models/make as yet

Will advise soon,or maybe start a new build thread

I am interested in this plane to install a DV camera (650 grs), but Im not sure if is a sufficient power???. This plane is powered normally with glow.

The one I have is the smaller version by AMD (68")

I think a 650 g camera would be toooo much.I`m going to use a wireless set up which weighs in at about 95grams!

I read on their site he was saying what ashame they dont make that drifter anymore!!!

yeah too bad, the Challenger is a super model in any case but the flat fusolage of the Drifter makes it perfect for video applications... I just crashed my MovieStar (Right engine failure on handlaunch takeoff) and I have to buy immediatly a new one, I'll probably go for the Challenger 80".... anybody flew it here?

That's a really CUtE Video!!! I'm still wondering how they trained the bear to fly the airplane?????!!!!!

I agree with you Rod. If a mirror was used how in the world could it be kept stationary with the windloading and engine vibration. I am still skeptical.

Wow, I stand corrected! I am amazed at their vibration suppression.

I saw the mount that attached to the fuselage in the video, but it didn't seem substantial enough to elimanate the vibration, but I concede..it works! Obviously he has reversed the image through a software program, as you can see it reversed in the camers's LCD display.

No matter what or how he made the video, It is still an amazing piece of aerial art! I wish I had thought of it first...LOL!

Where is the camera mounted for the views looking back toward the Teddy pilot? In the shots pointing forward (from the camera to the left rear of the pilot) you see no other camera out there. Perhaps it swings up into position when shooting then back down out of sight when shooting with the other camera. I think the whole thing is just awesome though! When the plane banks left the yoke goes left. When climbing or diving the yoke goes in and out. Totally cool!

Of course Im kidding! Hey ... check out my onboard video of my mid air collision. It wasnt intentional. I strapped my DV Camcorder to the landing gear of my magic formula 3d and had my friend follow me around as I flew. Sorry about the 4.5 minute length of the video but I did cut it down from the original 10.

Also ... is that a gyro I see mounted above the bears head to help control the roll axis? I bet it is. Ive thought about doing the same thing.
