Default straight wing Section between wings of a small hand launch glider

hello, i am building a small hand launch glider, i am kinda following a tutorial but made some changes, (this is the first plane i am installing electronics on not quite the first plane i build)
I considered adding a small airfoil section in between the two wings so I can mount the servos and reciever on the straight mid section and not on the angled wings (the wings will have a slight dihedral).
i also wouldn't have to cut into the wings to mount the electronics and if i do something wrong, i can just replace the small piece instead of the entire wing, (also it makes the wing area a bit larger).
Do you think that this would have a bad influence on the aerodynamics?
on the two pictures below you can see the proportions of the plane with and without the mid section, i think, with the midpiece added, the proportions to the elevator look somehow odd
So what do you think? or do i just have to try..

thanks.

I don't see where you would have an issue aerodynamically. Keep in mind you now have two dihedral breaks so getting back to the same strength of a single dihedral break will add some weight. That additional weight may have a bigger impact then your mod.
