I'm in the middle of building the Laser 200 plane. I installed a Zenoah G26 for power and I want to install a smoke system and a FEMA onboard starting system. If I install everything, I'm comcerned about the wing loading. Does anyone know what's the high end for the wing load? I called Horizon Hobby and they couldn't help. I also sent a email to Seagull and haven't received an anwer yet.
Thanks,
Les

i dont know the wing loading but with that motor it is going to be very heavy, and a smoke system will be the final nail in the coffin.....wont fly too good with all that weight

A buddy has the Green Models 72" Laser. He flew it initially with a Homelite converted 24cc motor. Despite trimming a lot of stuff off the engine it was still heavy and the plane flew badly - its slow speed handling was terrible (snap happy) and it lacked power. It now has a 160 fx on it and its a real animal. Go with glow...

Very nicely designed model
It is more of a scale model of an aerobat-rather than an aerobatic scale model .
Weight is on the higher side .
I had one and used a large four stroke in it.

Dick, I take your words on the Green Models Laser suggest that it is not very acrobatic or has bad tendencies to snap, etc.?
Many moons ago I built a IM Laser200, it flew "ok", snapped like a Cap...lol

The Seagull model ,was what I had. simply put -the goal of making it a scale, sturdy model got in the way of making it a brilliant acrobat.
Same on the horrible CAP kits produced by various mfgs
The CAP (any model)is an extremely good aerobat with no snappy tendencies -except for those grossly over weight things fobbed of on the unsuspecting model public.
Our 1984 CAP 20 design was 925 squares and typically weighed 9-10 lbs -
built by some -they weighed up to 13 lbs and that killed em.
Our last 1300 sq incher was 13 lbs - that ratio works.
