RE: 50cc YAK 54 QB,,WHO'S GOT THERE'S
Well, first off, I have to point out that once the container gets to the dock in China, it's out of Aerowork's hands.
But if the the Extra 260 shippment is any indication, they have been on the water since some time in December (can't remember the exact date), at least that's what I was told when I called them. I was expecting a late December/early January delivery date and stopped building a 34% Extra because I thought I would get this plane sooner ( I decided to use all the equipment I bought for it on the 260)...well, we are nearly in the middle of February and they are still on the water - that's been at least 6 weeks already. And they haven't even gotten to the states yet. Once they do, it will be around 10 days from there before they are shipped to customers.
Sure, you can hope, but you will be disappointed. If I were you, I'd plan on a mid-April delivery (according to mark, they hit the water around the 1st of Feb+6weeks water time, minimum+2 weeks of logistics on land+fudge factor, i.e. customs, weather, etc), that way, you will be pleasantly suprised if they show up earlier...

one more thing you could get the factory to do to make it a true QB is get them to seal hinge lines on elevator and ailerons with covering. Or is it already done.

Well, the instructions say "no need to do anything more with hinging - we've done that for you", and would imply, IMO, that the gaps have already been sealed, since that, to me, is an essential part of the hinging process. Still, my guess is that it has not been done and I have already bought some hinge sealing material for that.

Hi Guys
Just got my new Lanier RC 87 inch Yak 54....what a GREAT looking airplane....very light and the covering is first rate. The control surfaces are Huge!!1 much bigger than the TOC 50cc Yak.....Am powering with a DA 50....I think its going to be a killer airplane and given the low 499. price it looks like a winner!!

I've also got the qb on order. I thought we were expecting them in mid to late Feb. It now sounds like it will be much later. Anyone have a handle on when?

Logistics, man, ain't it a female dog!!!???
As for timeframe, 3 weeks seems about right, maybe 4, I am waiting on another new electric plane that got on the water early January, and it arrived in the US last Tuesday...I would hope that 8 weeks is conservative. But you gotta consider customs time and trave time on the train, and then travel time on the truck, and then all the stuff the hard-workin guys at Aeroworks need to do to get them inventoried and checked out before shipping to the customer.

Thanks for the delivery info. Hopefully it's fairly accurate. This will be my first venture into "giant scale" so I am quite anxious to get going. Hopefully all will go smoothly from here on out. Any suggestions on a pilot & panel? Will a 30% Yak virtual cockit work a-la troy built or an other mfr? Do you offer one?

Being fairly new to gasser, what is the best engine for this plane? DA, BME, FP??????
SHould it be be larger then a 50cc ????? OR will a 50 cc give it unlimited veritcal?
I"m at 2800 ASL and during the summer, with temps of 100 the density altitiude here is about 6500 to 7500. During the winter is so cold that 2800 doesn't have much as an impact as during the summer.
Forecast for today>>>SNOW????
Regards,
CHuck
