We've taken care of everything
The words you hear the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
It's one for all and all for one
We work together common sons
Never need to wonder how or why

2112 , how very appropriate if we just trade the guitar for a model plane .....

You win the internets for the week with this comment. In addition to being on point, it's just a darn good song. Listened to Rush all morning..my favorite band. Hope they don't called it quits in 2016. I've only seen them 11 times...need mor!

I had the same problem. I wanted to vote yes, but, could not. I took a chance on "Will".

I was raised to obey the laws. If I didn't register and my mom found out, I would be in big trouble.

I do wonder what is "pushed to far" where a tea party action will be required.

haha...i kept the sentence to a minimum and the choices will or will not. I took a chance that the majority of folks here could connect the dots. Next time I'll do a diagram.

Good news though, so far we're at 100% compliance. Given all the other threads where people were screaming heck no...would have thought they would have voted the same here.

Talk about ANEMIC participation, though! The threads have absolutely EXPLODED the last two days, yet only 8 people are going to register?
I don't think that will be enough to crash the registration website!

There are so many threads on this subject out there now, it's hard to decide just which I intend to make a comment on - decided to go with this one. I apologize for that choice.

Anyway, I've noticed something, maybe y'all have too. In this thread, and all the other threads, the people commenting (including me) are all model airplane (going by the 80-yr old understood definition of "model airplane") flyers. I'm not sure I've seen ANY comments by a pure "drone" enthusiast. Have they even noticed what's happening? Do they care?

Oh they notice and they care, but do you really think they are looking to come here and talk about it? Do you think they would be greeted with open arms and their viewpoints discussed in a respectful way? Look through many of the current threads here and see the posts of some people who like drones, but might not even fly them. After the AMA, they (droners) are the second group of people to be blamed for where we are at. This isn't a dig on RCU as they have threads for FPV and MR, but this is a more traditional site, RCG has more electric and MR users I think, but more importantly they have two or three sites dedicated solely to their type of flying. Birds of a feather and all....

A great gesture to us from the AMA would be if they took care of our registrations if all we do is give them our consent.
Consent or not, I believe the AMA would be compelled to surrender our personal info to the Feds in a SHTF situation.

An interesting point, that being consent. I think the AMA press release mentioned them trying to work something out with the FAA to streamline the registation process and have our AMA numbers used instead of new registration numbers. I have no issues with it personally, if it makes the process easier so be it. I can't imagine the AMA would just data dump over to the FAA however, I'm sure people would howl about that, as well they should. Now if the AMA can work with the FAA and allow us to check a box allowing the transfer of data, great. 99.99% sure that will never happen. Interested to see what this site looks like, hope it's a simple process but I doubt it..never is with two systems talking to each other.

Hi Astro ,

Yes I do plan to register IF the requirement is not killed in the upcoming challenges it's going to face . But , since I won't do it happily , more like grudgingly , I have not yet answered the poll cause a simple yes or no doesn't do the question the justice it deserves .

"Yes , but not happily"

"Yes , this is just wonderful"

"No , i'll be flying rogue"

"No , i'll be going back to my model railroad and have no need of the FAA"

See how many little nuances there are in just a simple yes or no ?

I for one will register . I have always been a person that goes in my own direction .I'm not a sheep that will follow the flock off the cliff, per say. In this case though I feel that if we do not cooperate and register we might be viewed by the FAA and DOT as a rogue group and loose any favor or cooperation that we may have with the them.

Not a droner but don't fly planes any more. I sold them all. What I have left is an older 13 inch coaxial, counter rotating heli that I don't have a charger for and a newer 10 inch 3 axis gyro heli. The latter weighs in at 473 grams so I need to register it. It can fly indoors or out but since I use it out until I can keep it low enough to not hit the ceiling I'm obligated to register. Can't be setting a bad example.

Smoking dope is a federal crime. Look how many states sell medical marijuana. Really think they going to imprison us for flying our model airplanes. The real crime here is that it solves nothing.

Btw, Federal government also said once upon a time we weren't allowed to drink alcohol. Look how well that worked out for them. We are all adults here, I refuse to be treated like a child.

Bookmaking is illegal too...but my state sure does love their cut of the pie from the two casinos...to say nothing of the lotteries they run.
