Fastest way is by paying with credit card. There is a link for doing that at http://www.ama-dist-8.org/Membership/index.php

The main renewal rush should be completely done... so it should take just about 10 days to get your card by signing up on-line. If no card shows up within 2 weeks of the on-line registration... e-mail here: jeannieh @ modelaircraft.org (delete the space each side of "@" ) and they'll fix it.

You're only about 100 miles from Muncie. Jump in your car about 7AM, head south on 31 and then 28 over to Muncie. Be there at 9AM with cash in hand, get card and back to your flying field before noon. Get an eye-full of what you're buying into.

Default RE: Joining AMA

Why can I call Tower Hobbies for an order and receive the order in five days via UPS ground, but it takes ten days or more for AMA to process a membership renewal with a credit card on line.

And if they can process a application in person and hand the person the card at the time (per Hossfly), why can't they do the same with an application on line and get the card in the mail same day, and into the on line verification system same day??

Management problems here. I personally think, we are paying for better than this. I renewed my membership in a trade organization last week and the on line verification was posted same day, and membership card came in mail two days later. And this renewal only cost me $15. One would think AMA could do better for $58.
