Man I am steaming right now.

Ok here is the deal.
I run a simple link site clubfield.com
All it is, is a site with pictures of flying field sites and a link to the club that runs the field.
Nothing more, very simple.

Well tonight, the webmaster or whoever he is, sends me a letter saying that my link from their site is being removed because of:
"adware”, pop-ups, and browser spoofing / hijacking"

Someone please show me where any of this is happening???
The only thing that pops up is the clubs website when their link is clicked to give a fresh browser.

Anyway, not only does this idiot write this and accuse me falsly, he then proceeds to copy the email to a ton of AMA officials.

I am seriously considering contacting my attorney to start a lible case against him.

I wrote back to him and all that he CC'd demanding proof of these alligations.
Of course no response by him.
I'm not going to lay down on this, I'm fuming and I'm going after someone for sure.

well I sent everything to my attorney.

there is nothing worse than being accused and slandered with allegations that are not true.

Maybe if he had not went on to say in the letter that he is telling everyone that will listen about me I would not be taking it this far. But he did.

Sorry to hear that has happened to you. Make sure you do a dump of the headers and sources and provide your legal guy that also because it contains stuff he will need.

also,
have a 3rd party go to yer site and click around and insure that something hasn't been added without yer knowlege.

I'm a little confused here. How can someone else add or take away from a website you run? Also, why would the the AMA care about your website? Do you know for a fact that the guy sent the e-mails or did he just say he sent them? He may just be jerking your chain.

If you added a link to his site then he has a right to take it down. Your site is advertising other clubs by virtue of your list. Although I would consider it a good thing I can see why someone else won't.

Always get permission before adding a link to another site.

I think you should consider youself lucky that he didn't call Commisioner Gordon to have Batman get on it!

Really dude, a lawyer? Are you insane? It's an e-mail from some old fart with nothing better to do and it won't effect you at all. I really hope "your lawyer" is your brother in law because if your paying someone to look into this you need a check-up from the neck-up, if you get my drift.

But if I were to accuse you guys of some type of criminal behavior, then CC it to a bunch of people, wouldnt you be the slightest bit upset?

nothing will bite me anywhere. It's a simple link list is all.
I made this site on the side because I love this hobby and I like to see other people fields.

Maybe if it was a Russian porn site then you might expect adware and hijacking.

But it's not, and to make claims without backing it up it just pure and simple jackassery.

Being in business for myself for the last 8 years has shown that having a lawyer on retainer for anything I need has been a good idea.

I use to belong to this club when I lived in NJ and I do not think that we have all the story here. I know the guy who run's the website and I do not think he would have done anything with out a good reason.

You also need to be careful about what you are saying here. They sent you an email saying they where taking your link down so you come here an blast him?

I'm not going to take sides, but as with a lot of stuff on the internet there are two sides and I don't see MCRCS coming here and blasting you about "pop ups" and the like.

Spend your money on a Lawyer, but based upon the info you've presented here I don't see that they have done anything wrong. You are going to have a hard time proving that they did not have a problem that they beleived or preceived to be from you site. If that is the case then they are well with in there right to state what the rightfully believe is true.

Slander and Libel require that what the said or did, they did so with full knowledge that it is false and with intent to harm you personnally or you business. I don't see that.

Also, have emailed MCRCS and asked a representive to respond.

Most of the people on this site will never have anything to do with MCRCS, and most of those that have or will I know will find the this club to be full of very good people with one of, if not the best, RC flying facilities in NJ. On the other hand club leaders who visit RCU who may have been debating linking to your site might chose not to because of what they see you doing here.

NO, but I wouldn't air out my laundry on this site. You have the list of people they contacted in the e-mail they sent. Hit "Reply to all" and defend your postition to them via the e-mail.

No need to bring it here. Use back channels to get this resolved and if you still think it requires a lawyer then go for it. But regardless of your reasons for posting this here, IMHO it makes you look bad, not right and not wrong, just in a bad light. And your little banner on your web-site in replacement of their link
