From: Corona, CA,
Clarence Ragland (AKA fliers1) got a pretty nice write up in the most recent MA by his VP, Dave Mathewson. I have occasionally had the pleasure of corresponding with Clarence about issues involving training of pilots and related issues. It was interesting to see that he did just exactly what he has always told me he could... Train people to fly, without fear, in just a few flights. I wonder if Ginger Mathewson will now outfly Dave.
It was interesting to see that training without a buddy box can be so successful. It’s the way I learned. The AMA has shied away form training without a buddy box and does not allow it on the “one time flight” for non-AMA members. Maybe the time has come to reconsider.

I am fortunate enough to have Mr. Ragland assist me with my hobby shop and ever since he did business has been very, very good. The ability to utilize fly before you buy has been nothing less than absolute success. I owe a great debt to Mr. Ragland because he literally saved my fledgeling hobby shop with his flying technique. I see him take people that have never flown before and have them flying in minutes, on a daily basis. I cant begin to tell you how that increases sales, other than stellar. I am glad Mr. Mathewson saw first hand what Mr. Ragland can and daily does do.
