There may be one other absolute and that is that the JR here is greatly misinformed of several "truths" which he expounds here and I found a big one of those at the AMA Grand Event in Waco, TX in August. [X(] Don't ask as this will not be revealed as I respect certain privacies.
Is this finally, after all this time, a realization on your part, that the EC were/are my handlers an incorrect assessment on your part?

Is that a realization that the questions I ask in this forum and the subjects I raise are of interest to me and possibly to other members of this forum and not for the EC, nor anyone in particular on it or at HQ? Is it a realization that I do my own research and am not handed information for posting here for some nefarious reason by those on the EC or at HQ?

I have told you so… oh, maybe 20 or 30 times... in this forum. It took someone else to tell you so that you would believe it? This thread is a perfect example. It was not fed to me, it was the result of discourse with others on unrelated topics that lead to my questions. It’s something I thought might be interesting to discuss, not something someone else asked me to put here.

Now, as far as what I post as being “facts” or “truths”, they are what I believe to be facts or truths, if I state they are facts or truths. Could they, indeed, not be fact or truth? Sure, and I have had to withdraw a couple of things I stated as fact or truth incorrectly. When I am wrong, I so state, explain, and apologize. When things are my opinion, I so state. I have never claimed to be an instrument of the EC… that is your claim. I do not consider my asking questions as stating facts or truths. I simply consider them questions to be answered or discussed (not withstanding the occasional rhetorical question). Do I communicate with many members of the EC and Staff in my quest for information? Yes.

It has been your assumption and opinion, stated often, that I was representing someone other than myself. You were and are wrong.

At a meeting last night the AMA is just a cover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All we want is to say we belong and the hell with it If you bring up safety or any thing that pertains to the hobby the hell with it. All we want to do is flyWell the day will come when you pay the piper. I offered to do a job that no one else wanted and you now where that went. It is hard to tell a club you started to go to hell.
Edit
P.S.
The only reason most clubs has AMA is because the land owner requires it for it's liability insurance. Most members do not and will not take on a office and do not now what to do or what is suposed to be done in this office. Getting them to use the web sight or finding out what the AMA is just causes problems and conflict between members that just want to fly and not be bothered wit politics

Giestware
Any time the letters AMA are used its like a buck deer in hunting season. All parts of the AMA effect each other, when they start conflicting with each other some thing has to be done. When only about 1/4 of the people that join even no what the letters stand for other than insurance and the name Muncie where all the big boys fly. Most member including my self have a hard time navagating the sight then getting club members to believe what you have found and how it applies to their club with out starting a big mess is a hard job for some one. I think I have dug myself a deep enough hole[&o]

To answer you question in a word, NONE.
Why do you ask?
Do you want me to close this thread?
If so, I will have to tell you that I don't think that is appropriate.
What I do think is appropriate is to stay on subject and if we want venture off topic, then it is appropriate to start a new thread. I am here to help you through any additional difficulties that you may have. Happy Flying

Don't think this thread is candidate for closure.

It managed to stay more or less on topic, depending on your view, through roughly 22 posts.

Gotta be something of a record . . .

In my opinion there are two important entities that don't play a major part in the current AMA online presence. Districts and Clubs. At the moment each district maintains its own website. Taking a look at these, you can see some big differences between districts. District AVP's should have their columns published online, and the web should be used as a method for the AVP's to communicate with their district, something which in my opinion is severely lacking at the moment.

For clubs, there should be more information available from their perspective. Information about setting up a new club, information about AMA programs that are aimed at club participation. Resources for newsletter editors including an article sharing system, etc. etc. The recent change from national newsletter to AMA insider is definately a step in the right direction here.

From what I have seen much of the IT infrastructure at AMA is obsolete, and is in need of modernization.

I will agree that the AVP's should have their own area on the district site.
District members should funnel information to the AVP for publication on the site.
RVP's should take all this information for inclusion in the AMA mag.
Doing this will allow for the continuous flow of prompt/current information.

GOOD IDEA!
