Default Year's coverage or date to date?

Sorry, simple question.
Is the AMA coverage 1 calendar year, or twelve months from your renewal? If I join right before the season in March, will it go until feb 07?I always though it was the 12 months, but I wanted to make sure.
Thanks

Coverage has always been for the calendar year, it expires Dec 31 no matter when you join or renew. New members who join later in the year will get a break on the next year's renewal.
