Well, I don't know about Missouri and Kentucky, but here in Ohio I have never met an RC'r who wasn't personable and eager to help any novice. We love to share our hobby and I can't understand why it would not be so. Everytime I have visited another club, they have gone out of their way to be hospitible.
I pray that you will meet some of the people I'm talking about, because I know they are out there.

I also live in Ohio and have belonged to several clubs in this state , and for many years, in New England. I've also flown with clubs in Texas.

I think that you will find clubs and people almost everywhere that are friendly and helpful. However, you can also find the opposite. Even within a club the types of responses you can get can vary widely.
