I would like to thank those who know
why the AMA and 99 percent of organizations across the USA
adopt and use Roberts rules to run business meetings and prevent :
MOB RULE and things being run Like a street gang
I hope others that don't understand yet............ will get educated.

Hey fellas, I just met Crash99 at our last flyin and a ProBro meet a coupla weeks ago. He's a real stand up guy that knows what he's talkin about. Couldn't ask for a nicer guy IMHO.
Crash came to one of our Fun flys in Warsaw an brought a buddy ( can't remember his name though) an ya couldn't ask for 2 better fellas at an event.... Besides, they kept the crowd entertained with the beat-up coroplast profile more than anything else flown that day.
He helps run one of the better, if not best clubs here in the mid Mo. Ozarks.
If everybody acted like these 2 ProBros, we wouldn't need no stinkin rules....

Since you are the one who started the thread, what was the reason for it anyway? Are YOU having trouble at your field/club?
3 pages of this stuff seems to me to be more than enough about RR's.
In our club, the ones that ***** the most are the ones who never help out. So we just let it in one ear an out the other an carry on with what needs to be done to keep everything running smooth for the daily operations of the field.
RR's might be good for a bunch of constant crybabies, but at our small club the ones that work the most are the ones that get to make the rules.
We let every kind of plane or chopper fly at our field with no hassle. If they can't get along with the rest, we just tell'em to find a different place to fly.
I think this thread has wore me out........

Interesting insight Toolman, I would say that I am one that does do alot in the club and am glad we have RR to prevent the crybabies from taking up too much time. See that's the great thing, they complain, do nothing, and make motions that fail. RR's keep them in check. I do not belong to a small club so the crybaby ratio to workers is really hIGH!!!

Me an the Prez pretty much do it all....
He keeps things flowing smooth an helps out at any events we have, an also does a lot of the running for things with no charge to the club. He also rounds up all of the donations we get.
I do all the mowing every week ( which I enjoy doing) at $6 a pop for 2 gal of gas outta my own pocket, and all of the painting ( I buy all of the paint also) that needs to be done now and then.
We ask for somebody to do less than 10 minutes of weed eating each week, had 1 volunter that did it once an that was the last of that for him I guess. I just bought roundup outta my own pocket tonight an fixed the weed eating problem for this year now. LOL
Yep, all they hafta do now is come fly there planes an gripe about every thing under the sun.
I don't think RR's would make anybody hop up an volunteer for anything anyway or quit griping.
I've been in a lotta clubs in my 57 years, an I have found that the officers usually end up doing all of the work while all of the others reap the benefits
Oh yeah I almost forgot, we have a beautiful field with an almost dead flat 500 x 70 ft runway with probably 25-30 acres to fly over that we have had for 11 years at 0 cost to us from the owner. We raised the dues from $10 year to $25 an the members like to had a cow over that one.

If you don't vote on the issue, how do
you know who the majority really is? ....and therefore who the crybabies really are?
The crybabies could be you and your group...... when you end up on the losing end of a vote.

Theres only 11-12 in our small club an only 3-4 of us show up to fly reguarly. The others might be there once a month for 1-2 flights an then go back home until the next month. We have meetings once a month an only 3-4 of us show up for that also.

I agree in a club with few members there's not likely to be much disagreement,
but when the treasury gets big and the egos bigger, roberts rules of order allows for
the "just because we say so" crowd to be kept in check by
the true majority....... not those that claim they are "the majority"
when in fact when the vote is taken......they find themselves being...... the "crybabies".
This happens alot in larger clubs, the people that "think" they are
"the majority" find out they are'nt once the vote of the silent majority is taken.
The term "landslide defeat" comes to mind.
