I would only say I won't vote for Oberdieck. I don't think he does a very good job representing DVII, unless your from Michigan. It sorta boils down to east or west after that? I think either Rich or Dave will do fine.

What does an L-number have to do with writing him in?

Just an FYI on who is eligble to be the AMA President:
Section 3. To be eligible to discharge the duties of AMA President, a
nominee must be a Leader member of the AMA and must previously have
served as a member of the Executive Council or as Associate Vice
President or as a Contest Board member for at least one year.
To be eligible to discharge the duties of an elected AMA officer other
than President, a nominee must be a Leader member of the AMA.
To be eligible to discharge the duties of an appointed AMA officer,
including Associate Vice President, Contest Board member, and Contest
Coordinator, an appointee must be a Leader member of the AMA.

Additional information: The "L-NUMBER" such as "L-93" is associated with LIFE MEMBERSHIP and is so designated if the life member so desires.
Leader Members are not associated with the L on the number unless such member requests a special AMA number which is availabe and could have a number with an L on front. IMO that would be a deceptive action, however that is just my opinion and holds no water.

Thanx Hoss
L-eader, L-ife .... oops
While many figured out what I meant, Hoss is right that the correct terms should be used.
Jug, hurry up & make with the eligibility so we can start writing you in,
shouldnt be hard to take a OneNameBallot by stealth write-in, 400? 600 votes on a non-president year? Considering you get as many votes as you want to pay for... such as buying 4 memberships for your highschool buddies, 2 for college pals, 6 for coworkers.... just keep handing out paid memberships to your close friends, and if we get 30 or 40 folks here to buy 10vote clusters.... why campaign when you can just buy the election.

Sorry, too late for this election. Maybe next time around (in 3 years) the required endorsements can be obtained (bought).

Oh sure, thats a given, not this time.
We have to get the timing right to pick a year that accounts for
OneNameBallots driving down voter turnout,
Then enough StealthWriteIn DVP victories & aging to grab the NominationsCom,
then slot the Pres ballot with our picks
so it is an event of opportunity to say the least
Jug-
Take one for the team & be pres...
be a man about it, we all have to take a presidating one time or another

Kid, if you are speaking of Pres. then Jugflier has a long row to hoe! [:-] If those in D-5 are so against him, and since the President election year coinsides with the D-5 DVP election year, just how will JF ever convince Tony to appoint him, JF, to an Associate DVP or contest board position so he can get a year under his belt to be elgible for President. Had JF run against Tony this year and won then that hard requirement would be complete. I have never heard of anyone applying for Leader and getting turned down.
That is not a difficult chore.
BTW over there in D-5 there is a record of some very "wonnerful" things that happen when leader is needed right now, etc.
Very interesting along with all thse hanging chads in that district.

Hoss-
Well, you seem to have found the crux of the plan: We cant slip Jug into the D5 DVP seat if we are relying on the non-pres years OneNameBallot low voter turnout.
He would have to relocate for an extended trip out of District and get whammied into some other district seat in an across the board DVP seat grab by the party. That, or we are going to have to invest a lot more capitol into the plan to ride out the 'Every year is a Pres year' voter turnout in D5
Gonna have to check the turnout numbers to wage the feasibility of a direct outspend votebuy against the standard d5 number of actual votes... this could get ugly, ugly for the purse. Gonna take a lot of post vote pork to get the capitol for this one
see, that is why I like reading Hoss' posts,
full of neat info to help in the planning stage of all kinds of things.
Is Hoss helping to overthrow the AMA?
No, he found an opportunity to educate folks on how the system works. Most times folks just let the system do its thing without bothering to look up stuff, well, Hoss has taken the time to give folks the skinny on the subject.

Hoss,
I kind of wish there was time to reqruit some one for a write in in D5. I was going to write in Mickey Mouse but was a fraid he really might win. What are the requirements to run for DVP? I would like to see someone come to the front and get behind them for the next election cycle.
I might start a thread posting for someone to run for DVP in the future.

Forgive me, but You are starting to sound like STL. That is truely an odd statement considering Jug has more to gain than most. Who knows he might actually get a fair shake from another D5 VP. Would you be so kind and explain your reasoning?
