RE: Where to put the (X)

Just an FYI on who is eligble to be the AMA President:

Section 3. To be eligible to discharge the duties of AMA President, a
nominee must be a Leader member of the AMA and must previously have
served as a member of the Executive Council or as Associate Vice
President or as a Contest Board member for at least one year.

To be eligible to discharge the duties of an elected AMA officer other
than President, a nominee must be a Leader member of the AMA.

To be eligible to discharge the duties of an appointed AMA officer,
including Associate Vice President, Contest Board member, and Contest
Coordinator, an appointee must be a Leader member of the AMA.

Hossfly 10-12-2007 12:46 PM

RE: Where to put the (X)

Additional information: The "L-NUMBER" such as "L-93" is associated with LIFE MEMBERSHIP and is so designated if the life member so desires.

Leader Members are not associated with the L on the number unless such member requests a special AMA number which is availabe and could have a number with an L on front. IMO that would be a deceptive action, however that is just my opinion and holds no water. ;)

While many figured out what I meant, Hoss is right that the correct terms should be used.

Jug, hurry up & make with the eligibility so we can start writing you in,
shouldnt be hard to take a OneNameBallot by stealth write-in, 400? 600 votes on a non-president year? Considering you get as many votes as you want to pay for... such as buying 4 memberships for your highschool buddies, 2 for college pals, 6 for coworkers.... just keep handing out paid memberships to your close friends, and if we get 30 or 40 folks here to buy 10vote clusters.... why campaign when you can just buy the election.

RE: Where to put the (X)

Oh sure, thats a given, not this time.

We have to get the timing right to pick a year that accounts for
OneNameBallots driving down voter turnout,
Then enough StealthWriteIn DVP victories & aging to grab the NominationsCom,
then slot the Pres ballot with our picks

so it is an event of opportunity to say the least

Jug-
Take one for the team & be pres...
be a man about it, we all have to take a presidating one time or another ;)

Hossfly 10-12-2007 10:35 PM

RE: Where to put the (X)

Kid, if you are speaking of Pres. then Jugflier has a long row to hoe! [:-] If those in D-5 are so against him, and since the President election year coinsides with the D-5 DVP election year, just how will JF ever convince Tony to appoint him, JF, to an Associate DVP or contest board position so he can get a year under his belt to be elgible for President. Had JF run against Tony this year and won then that hard requirement would be complete. I have never heard of anyone applying for Leader and getting turned down. That is not a difficult chore.
BTW over there in D-5 there is a record of some very "wonnerful" things that happen when leader is needed right now, etc.
Very interesting along with all thse hanging chads in that district. :D

RE: Where to put the (X)

Hoss-
Well, you seem to have found the crux of the plan: We cant slip Jug into the D5 DVP seat if we are relying on the non-pres years OneNameBallot low voter turnout.

He would have to relocate for an extended trip out of District and get whammied into some other district seat in an across the board DVP seat grab by the party. That, or we are going to have to invest a lot more capitol into the plan to ride out the 'Every year is a Pres year' voter turnout in D5

Gonna have to check the turnout numbers to wage the feasibility of a direct outspend votebuy against the standard d5 number of actual votes... this could get ugly, ugly for the purse. Gonna take a lot of post vote pork to get the capitol for this one

see, that is why I like reading Hoss' posts,
full of neat info to help in the planning stage of all kinds of things.
Is Hoss helping to overthrow the AMA?
No, he found an opportunity to educate folks on how the system works. Most times folks just let the system do its thing without bothering to look up stuff, well, Hoss has taken the time to give folks the skinny on the subject.
Thanx Hoss

I thought this thread was about Where To Put The X
Whom you might vote for, or for many with no choices, whom to write in

As such,
since Hoss has stepped back after his KickOut this year,
and this is not a good opportunistic year for 'The 600' party (team Jug),
there is some confusion on just what folks choices are this ballot.

I have a feeling Invalid will have a good turnout this time round.
I wonder if the nomination committee will get the message if Invalid gets more votes than the incumbant OneNameBallot.

California got 1 thing right:
When the elected govenor messes up too badly, you just fire his but midterm & put someone else in the office... term smerm, hit the road, you are the weakest link. Kinda reminds the government that they work for the people, the people put them in office & the people can take them out any time they want.

Just because STL or Red and a few others label some of us AMA bashers does not make it true. That is just a defensive ploy of misdirection of any weak position they are trying to defend at the time. Do not fall for it. Do not start using it also. You can explain yourself without bashing me or RCU if you just wanted to. Similar misdirection as with your previous response is bad form. Never miss an attempt at humor....;) The "600 party", has a nice ring to it, but really like most political events, it is just an internet fable born in the figment of someone's imagination. The shoe is in your corner buddy, you don't want to rehash old scores, stop making reference to them. I for one am not, nor will not, back down from you and your constant attempt to throw off on some "right wing" conspiracy theory that you and your cohorts believe to have uncovered. If you wish to continue down this road, that is fine, but don't look for me to stand in the shadows while you throw off on me and the others. You want it to stop, it starts with you.
You can play it off as joke, if you wish, I have seen others on here try that, and it does not come off too well. If you want a name for the party, I can come up with some of those as well, but I can imagine it would probably be deleted, and today I'm not into name calling. Like I said, you can leave me and my friends out of your politcal games, we can be congenial, otherwise you are get it right back. Have a good day, and good luck with the campaign....

LCS,

Okay, then, name one thing that this little group has had to say of a positive nature concerning the District V Vice President. Just one. I must have missed it, but I can't recall any. All I have seen are posts fomenting discontent toward the best District Vice President that District V has had in years. And to top things off, the majority of the dissenters are not even residents of this district. Imagine the uproar if I were to start making dispariging posts concerning Jim Rice. That uproar would be justified, since Jim is an honest, hard working District Vice President. There is no basis for the statements directed toward Tony Stillman. Tony has worked very hard to overcome the lack of action by the former District V Vice president (you do remember Mr. I attended don't you?) How about instead of wanting to throw Tony out of office, mid term, as was just suggenste, we throw out Kid Epoxy, or Jugflier, or You? How would that set with you?

I'll tell you what. I will withdraw my statements publicly, when I see Jugflier make a public apology for his actions of the last few months. Those include the threats that were made against members of his former club, as well as those made here in RCU. I will withdraw my statements publicly, when I see Kid Epoxy apologize to Tony Stillman for the disparaging remarks made about him. Additionally, when that occurs, I will withdraw my formal complaint to the AMA, in regard to the threats that were made in here. And further, I will not reinstitute the complaint, so long as the above named parties do not continue their campaign against the persons that have been threatened, or maligned. That is as fair as I can be, regarding this. If the above does not happen, I will pursue my goal of having the AMA act upon these atrocities. The ball is in your court.

RE: Where to put the (X)

when I see Kid Epoxy apologize to Tony Stillman for the disparaging remarks made about him
Please Itemize a list of quotes (yes, cite thread & post#)
that I made "disparaging remarks" about the D5 VP Tony. (I will put them in context if you somehow slip & miss the context of the quote)

I'll start with the California Recall crack you just made:

Nowhere in that post of mine did I mention D5 or Tony or that it was a district rather than Pres.
How you assign that to Tony when I had just mentioned Hoss was "KickOut", that really REALLY indicates that I wasnt talking solely about D5. So if you would stop making wild (& frequently inaccurate) assumtions about my text it would be nice. Hoss wasnt running for any D5 position, so clearly I wasnt talking solely about d5, so you need to stop trying to drag every post anyone makes back to old arguements.

Hoss isnt in D5, California isnt in D5, I just discussed how the ProAMA Party (TeamJug) opportunistic seat grab would have to go thru some other district than D5.... Everything in that post was not about D5.... get it in your head that the post wasnt a shot at D5, get out of the past & put your grudges aside.

Dont just say I made remarks, quote & cite them... just whining about stuff I say in general isnt going to get anywhere.

But of course this will get the Delete it deserves from RCU for being just flaming me & my defense will get poofed too. I probably shouldnt have taken this bait you laid, but I will put up a defense to particular allegations you make.

If you feel the D8 VP did something wrong, you are free to say we need less of that kind of thing. But to say bad things about Jim Rice you will have to first find something he did wrong, and that is not such an easy task.

Maybe you want to compain that Jim Rice doesnt carry enough 1/2A stuff in his shop.
Well, that may be true, but he will happily order anything you want & even give you a call when it comes in: And that seems like a very fair compromise on that hot political topic of stocking 1/2A. HE gets my vote (well, he did & will again).
