This is a new release. I saw it at Joe Nall this spring and made up my mind that I was going to have one. I took some video of the prototype and will post them soon.
I got the package delivered by Brown. Of course the boxes were banged up andI thought that I had a mess on my hands that I would have to ship back. It actually turned out that there wasn't any damage to the air frame.
So I'm off and running. Anyone with one feel free to pitch in. I'm also always looking for better ideas and ways to do things so feel free to pitch in. Threads are always more interesting to me when others participate.

There were 2 problems with the plane upon inspection.
The cowl had a chip in it right up front where I can see it and there was a piece missing from a rib. I decided not to return anything and fix it myself.
A real close inspection with a flash light didn't find anything else wrong. This is a Quality Plane.

Here is a link to the first of 3 Videos I took at Joe Nall. This was when the obsession started.

I unpacked it Yesterday. The thing that grabbed me were the colors. This is a little brighter then My 50cc. Thats great for old Eyes.
The packing was exceptional. Had plywood layered between the boxes. It was double boxed. I think this is what saved the plane from the Gorilla baggage handlers that UPS borrowed from the airlines. LOL.

I decided to mount the engine first. I had to take it off of the Engine break in stand that I built. I had the engine for a while. It's a YD Aero 112cc. I'm also planning on putting Cans on here. I picked up a used set from my friend Ryan. I don't like to use templates to set the engine. I made a template out of poster board and stood the plane up against my 8 foot ladder and bungied it so it couldn't fall over. Set the engine on the firewall and located it to the cowl. Scribed around the mount with a #2 pencil and drilled the mounting holes.
RCu has been acting up for two weeks and wont let me upload anymore pictures for now. I'll edit them in later.

I had to make a little modification to the front of the motor box to clear the rear mounted Cylinder.
Thats as far as I got so far. I'll get back to it after Christmas.

Here is a link to my attempt at running the engine. This was one day before the snow hit and I never got another chance to run it again. It didn't take full throttle but it ran great to 4800rpm. Then it would fall on its face. I think there is some dirt in the carb somewhere. I hope its the screen. I can clean that out pretty easy. Ran across this before and it was dirt in the Screen on a brand new engine.

Tom,
You love your new plane so much, we just might have to give her a group hug a Joe Nall.
Looking Good!

There is a rebar spike at the back end of the bench. It's stuck in the ground pretty good. If it had a 3rd wheel. Who knows.

I'm open for suggestions on where to put the throttle servo with the carb being mounted so low. What worries this rookie is the heat from the canisters.

Tom, this is how I mounted the throttle servo on my 150cc Edge and 150cc Extra. You should be able to rig up something similar. I glued the second vertical piece using some scrap lite ply.

All I need is to be independently wealthy Like my friend Bob T. I'd already have one.I have Cleared out some of my bigger planes to make room for my Biggest plane. I still have to figure out where I'm going to store it. I may have to get one of those hoists and hang it from the ceiling.

I got away from using nirod on gassers. I guess I'll have to get back to using it. I read where Ken said that it absorbs Vibration and don't transfer it to the servo gears.

Yeah I haven't had any problems using it, as long as it's supported in a few spots. You can get the semiflexible style that is resistant to changes in temperature.

For throttle pushrods I normally use the Sullivan S583 which is carbon filled, with 4-40 size connector.
This model no longer seems available, but the 2-56 sized S580 should work fine.
