Hey Fellas I am looking to buy a friend of mine who is an experienced turbine flyer something electric to mess around with. Which one of these would you suggest-

Heading is 'Best R/C airplane ever'. It ain't one of those listed, and unless you have flown every R/C model ever designed, you are only going to get a qualified answer. Of those that I have flown, (there's that qualification) the best 'all round R/C model' is my Top Flite/MAN plan Taurus. FWIW.

Rather strange post there man, too much work clicking all those links for most people... why dont you narrow it down to a few you like.

I don't quite understand the original question.

Are you saying you are wanting to get into Turbine Jet planes and are looking at those planes you listed as "trainers" or "starter" planes?

Or are you saying that you want to get into EDF instead and are looking for a first EDF plane?

IMHO NONE of those are good entry level TURBINE jet trainers as they are way too "pilot friendly" compared to a JetCat equipped beast.

Pick the one that looks best to you, or, pick the one that looks the most like his favorite plane.

Ah, got it. I believe I was correct in assuming that there was more to this question...

Given his experience with actual turbine engines, he might be better off with something like this:

This will be much closer to what he is used to and more satisfying for someone normally flying the "big boys".

However be aware that these are ARF's that will require power systems, fans, etc.

The downside is the work and expense putting one of these together.

The upside is a much larger, more powerful ( and faster ) plane that handles pretty much like a large turbine jet.

It is still MUCH cheaper than a kerosine powered jet.

Since it is likely he's put together Turbine Jets before, dealing with something like this might be somewhat trivial for him.

The foamies are more suited to pilots of lower skill level(s), though they can be enjoyable even for the pilot who already has his Jet Waiver certificate.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will for sure keep that one in mind. I do not think building it will be too hard for him since he has already dealt with much bigger projects and what not. I know the ARF's are probably more suitable for him due to the fact that he can put in his own equipment to make it a more powerful plane like you said, but do you think it might make more sense to just buy a RTF and have it all set and ready to go for him? Let me know what you think, I know the RTFs are a little more expensive but i feel like it might be worth it. Thanks again, I really appreciate your help.

EDIT: Also I see receiver ready planes are available, might this be suitable too. One more thing to mention, I remember seeing him fly a Habu Jet from park zone, after the turbines. Not sure if that helps but thanks again.<br type="_moz" />
