I really like the looks of the new Hangar 9 T-34. But I would like to hear how it flies, the constructions of the ARF etc.
Can any one out there tell about this ARF????

From: Heyworth, IL,
I picked one up from the LHS last week, but haven't started working on it yet. After opening the box, I found the Ultracoat covering looked pretty good and things were packaged very nicely. Also, all the hinge slots are pre-cut and the decals have already been applied. The fuel tank and fuel fittings were not included, although the instruction manual had a section that showed how to install it. A quick call to Horizon by the LHS and we were informed that some of the ARFs went out without these parts, but they'd send them out ASAP. I have a 46FX I plan to install for power, and I'm also going to install mechanical retracts.

Just completed mine but have not had a chance for the maiden yet. It goes together fine and is probably one of the best ARF's I've seen. I have a 46FX onboard with mechanical retracts. Looking forward to the 1st flight......

I picked up the plane for my wife to build. We started it tonight, I provide the extra pair of hands when needed. So, far the only grips I have is there is no size for pilot information or spinner. I noticed in the pictures the trailing edge of the stab is suppose to be notched. Our has no notched. Our LHS is out of the low-profile servo and when they contacted Horizon the low profile servo recommended for the retracts have been discontinued. There is a new model on the way. So, we ordered a HiTec RC retract servo. We will have it Tuesday. so we wilkl see if it works.
We will keep you posted.

I have started on my T-34. I was very pleased with the covering and packaging of the plane. However, I have run into some problems.
1) as mentioned, there was NO FUEL tank included. However, one quick call to Horizon and it was on the way. Great customer service.
2) When I went to install my wings (on the fuse) after gluing them together, I found that one of the bolt holes was WAY off!!!!!!! I had to drill a larger hole in the wing so the 1/4-20 could get a straight shot into the blind nut.
Also, I noticed that the wing is slightly off center. It stick out just a tad more on the left than on the right.
Other than that, it looks pretty good. I have a OS70 that I will be installing. For the time being, I am just going with the fixed landing gear. I may upgrade at a later date, but for now fixed will do. Later.

Hey Rick. Looks like my 46FX is gonna fit in there just fine! I've been progressing slowly on mine, but so far it's going together pretty well. So far, the only minor glithces have been the missing notch in the trailing end of the stab, but that was easy to fix. It has to be there to allow clearance for the elevator linkage. I also had some trouble getting the wing to fit, but it just required sanding a little bit off the trailing edge where it meets the fuse. I'm also trying to install mechanical retracts for the first time. The nose gear went in just fine and I'll start installing the wing retracts tonight. Sorry guys, I don't have a digital cam, so I can't post pics..
I'll let you know if I can get the retracts working.

I didn't fly mine this weekend but another one flew and it is set up identical to mine. Tracked very well on takeoff and required 2 clicks of right aileron trim to fly hands off. Balanced at the reccomended point. Looks like a winner.
