i was wondering if it would be ok to put an O.S. 60 fp in the phoenix Dolphin or is that going tobe toover powering for it?

Better to have to much power, than not enough. You can alway fly 1/2 throttle.

The model is designed for .40-.46 size glow engines and has a fairly narrow front, so make sure that .60 size engine and mounts can fit. If so then you are good to go but be prepared to make use of the throttle

My step dad had one of these planes. I think the .60FP will fit but for some reason that engine is way heavier than it should be. Be prepared to add tail weight.

I got my Phoenix dolphin, the manual isnn't really clear was wondering where on the fuselage to cut the slits for the elevater and rudder push rod, any suggestions, or is there any pictures showing it, any help would greatly be appreciates.

Have you ever flown R/C before? No offense intended, but judging by your post, it doesn't sound like it. This is not an easy hobby to learn on your own without live, real time, help, although some have done it. I don't recommend it.

If you poke around carefully you will see those "slots" are already cut for you. You will just need to carefully cut and remove the covering over them.

I would think the Dolphin is too lightly built for the 60. A colleague has a 46 in it and it flies nicely for a second airplane. The 55ax should be more than sufficient. This airplane has a reputation for being too lightly built

With regards to the exit holes for the pushrods, insert the pushrods into preinstalled pushrod guides till they encounter the covering. Then gently push till you can see where the slot in the covering is to be cut. Cut the opening from outside for better finish. This is PVC type covering, you can easily shrink it witha a hair-drier, dont use a heatgun or iron, you will burn it

I have the new version Dolphin with the OS 55 AX. The overall build went very nicely with this one; however I found the plane to be tail heavy when balancing at the 3" mark as specified in the manual (2.9" to be exact per the manual). I was bummed when I discovered I would need to add 6 - 8 oz's on the front to get it to balance. (The stack of lead on the engine in the pic is basically what it needed to balance) The airframe is solid and could definitely handle a .60 size engine. I would love to go that route as an option and put extra weight in a stronger power plant vs adding dead weight just to balance. I also have the battery up against the fuel tank to help. Unfortunately, the engine area is fairly narrow, so I'm doubtful it has enough room for a .60 or larger engine. It would be great to hear other's experiences with this plane /engine combo or any input on the plane in general would be appreciated.
