I just reviewed a Seagull Porter PC-6 ARF. The manual was lacking compared to Hangar 9 or Great Planes stuff and some of the parts could have fit better or have been of better quality, but it was a fair value considering the price, excellent and attractive covering job, and the way it flew when it was done.

I've put together 2 Seagull 120 size kits over the last 12 months (Percival Mew Gull and PT 19). As noted above, the manuals assume some ARF experience. Mine went together well and the hardware was generally good. The finish is excellent. The construction is fairly robust and the planes should survive most landing and takeoff incidents structurally intact (eg stall drops on too slow landings, a cartwheel or two if the wing stalls at too slow takeoff etc). The undercarraige assemblies are typically underdone and need stengthening.

Seagull and Phoenix (and Black Horse) are sister concerns. They have recently updated their line-ups. The MX-Rs are new models. I dont think anyone will have a review for you. But typically, Phoenix are the sturdier ones (meant for the asian markets) and Seagull / BH are lighter (for US markets / paved runways). They are very good quality for the price and if you are an experienced modeller, you shouldnt have oo many problems with the iffy manual
