Default GP Patty Extra 300S Balancing BIG Problem

Hi I am just finish building my patty and I was testing the balance. The airplane is tremendusly tail heavy. I tried the balance before intaling the batterys and it was tail heavy. Now I intalled the two batterys (one is a 2000MiH 6v and the other one is a 2700 Mih 6v) The engine is a brison 3.2 mounted on a GP anti vibration damper and the servos are futabas 9001s . Now The planes balance, acording to the manual, should be 97mm from the wings edge. I have it at 155mm that is a lot of tail weight. I am looking for suggestions here because I don't want to put a 2kg weight on the front and have my plane super heavy, other than endangering the planes structure.
Please help I am short of ideas..
Thanks

Norbe,
The measurments in the manual are at the wing tip. It sounds like you are measuring at the root (where the wing meets the body). It would make sense because the first measurment you give is the factory CG and the second measurement is the same just transfered in to the root.

If you are balanced on the wing tube you are close. I also have the Brison 3.2 but with one rudder servo and the ignition battery up front and the reciever battery at the rear of the canopy hatch. It works just fine for me.

Ok this is wierd... i am measuring with a GP balancer... so the balance is taken on the wing where it almost touches the fuse. I am wondering why would GP give such a measurment on the tip and why would it be so diffrent on the center of the wing.... How am I supposed to take a measurement on the tip??
Does any one have some numbers with the gp balancer???

Norbe,
Connect the wings with the wing tube but not on the body. Then you can measure the wing tip and with a string stretch it tip to tip and transfer that mark to the wing root. Most find it comes out at the front of the wing tube or 6 inches in from the leading edge.

Also, there are two good sized threads on this plane already. You'll get more opinions and advice if you ask questions in those threads (although not as good as mine ).

Norbe,
Try 6 1/4 inches at the fuse (about the front of the wing tube)

Thanks for the advice at that measurment I am about right so I am not stressed anymore. I was before because it seemed odd fot the CG Machine magnufacturer to set a CG on the wing tip... well hope it flies well. How dificult is it to fly the patty??? I have two other airplanes one is a GP Supersporter and the other one is a Pipercub, is this plane much dificult to fly??? Thanks for the help...

Norbe,
They fly great - you'll love it!! Try an 22x8 prop on that Brison, spend the time to get it in good trim in the pattern and drive it in for your landing - leave a little power on all the way down to flare.

Have fun with it.

Default CG

Mine is at 5 7/8 inches at the wing root, measured using the GP balancer. It is just a bit nose heavy but it flies great.

Most folks are balancing somewhere between the front of the wing tube and the center of the tube.

Mine was very tail heavy and I found that using a high torque pull-pull rudder servo under the canopy saved a lot of weight in the nose.

Thanks for all the help I will try using the plane at more or less 6 inches from there I will see if it is going to be nose or tail heavy. I was afraid to go with the measurements I had since they were completely off scale. Now I am confident... Thanks to all I appreciate it very much
