Default Small plane for a 46LA

I have an OS46LA with standard servos on a trainer. The engine is weak for a 40. I am bored with the trainer. I am trying to find a smaller plane I can transfer the engine and radio. All the smaller planes (.25 to .35) I have found require micro servos. Any idea what small plane I can find that will fly fast with a 46LA and standard servos? Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks

If you want a plane that flies almost just the like a Sky Raider Mach II ... very stable and yet maneuverable ... the [link=http://www.thewingsmaker.com/airplane_details.php?name=Wingman%20II%20(GP)]Wingman II[/link] by The Wings Maker which is part of The World Models who makes the SRM2, will give you more speed.

But the Sky Raider is much tougher and if you are a new pilot, it will serve you better. Check out [link=http://www.abmshowcase.com/the_world_models/sport/sky_raider_mach_2/default.aspx]Sky Raider Mach II[/link] and [link=http://www.abmshowcase.com/the_world_models/sport/la_racer_40/default.aspx]LA Racer 40 ARF[/link] for more information on the Sky Raider and its sibling the LA Racer 40 that is a little nicer looking.

I have an Escapade with a 46AX and it is still slow. The Escapade really needs a 55. A 46LA on an Escapade would be really slow.
I'll take a look at the Sky Raider.

Have you tried different props on the escapade? I was flying a new Big Stick 40 with a thunder tiger 46 on it and was impressed with how fast it flew with an 11/5 APC prop. On landing I struck the prop tip and swapped it out for an APC 10/6 and man was that plane slow with the 10/6 on it. I wouldn't have believed what a difference it would have made if I hadn't just seen it with my own eyes.

A friend from about 10 years ago had a GP Sportster with an OS SF46 IIRC and that plane burned holes in the sky.

You might want to try a Twist 40. It should fly fine with that engine. It's a great little plane that can fly like a trainer or with a little more engine will do anything you ask of it ! Good Luck

Hobbychina I looked at the site you linked and decided would order an LT-40 ARF. For $58 it is a heck of a deal. The only problem is that you have to order a minimum of 100 units. I like that plane but can't see me needing quite that many in my garage. Can I buy just one or two of them? I might get my flying buddy to buy one also. One more question do you know what they are covered with?

An Uproar , its a small .40 size plane and you can get it in ARF form from Great Planes. A friend of mine has built 3 of them and loves them.

I realize I'm late to this thread but just in case someone else's search lands them here, this plane ISNOT a step up from a trainer. It is the epitome of a trainer. I think the best trainer ever made by the way...I've owned two of them with OS 46AXs in them. It's wing loading is around 16-17 oz per sq foot and it wil hover in a 12 mph wind. It lands so slow you could walk out and grab it out of the air...an exageration but you get my point. As an aside it's sold in the US as a SIGKadet LT 40, however for about double the cost.
