Default Questions about the Seagull Edge 60 size...

Hello guys,

I have a question about this ARF kit:

http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...60-arf-SEA4000

I installed a DLE 20CC and it flew pretty good for a couple of flights until I ran out of gas and lost the plane
I am going to rebuild a new one and I want to get the same kit....

I have a couple of questions:
*The landing gear is pretty soft and it bends easily.... moreover, I want to get another a little bit bigger because the prop that I use is 17 x 6 and I do not have lots of clearance...... where can I get landing gears? what material should I get???? The stock one is 5 inches in height, Thus, I was considering to find a 6 or 6.5 inches... would it be fine????
*Has anyone tried another wing tube? the stock one is too soft and it bends after some flights...
*I bought the DUBRO antivibration engine mount (50dlls).... do you guys think it is necessary or I could use the one that comes with the kit? (plastic)....

thanks!

One thing you might consider is the gear from the Seagull YAK 54 90 size. It is about 2 inches longer (not sure how much vertical height difference, probably 1.5 " maybe more). The mounting slots align with the Edge gear, and it is much stronger.

thanks for the tip!
however, do you think it is stronger?
It seems to be the same material used for the edge 60......

I flew the Edge 60 for two years. I am currently flying the YAK 54. The YAK gear is much stronger (and heavier). My Edge weighed just over 8lbs, the YAK just over 10lbs. I fly on a grass field.

Matador, my suggestion isn't going to work: the Edge gear is 30mm front to rear, and the YAK gear is 40mm. I doubt that you can fit the YAK gear onto the Edge. Sorry!

Ok, thanks!
I found a landing gear at HobbyKing that says 20cc and it is in carbon fiber, I think I will give it a try....
