Holy crap, what do you say to someone after something like that, and your plane is still for all intents and purposes, just fine? Thats funny.

Hi

I am from Kolkata, India and I would like to buy one Phoenix Funstar very soon, it is available India. But I would like to know if I use 46AX or 55AX with this model how to fit the engine into cowl? Also I would like to know what size of 4S Engine I can use on this model, but only OS Engines please.

What about this 56FS-a 4-Stroke Engine? http://www.osengines.com/engines/osmg0956.html
Is this engine enough for 3D flying and hover? What size of prop I should use for best 3D/Hovering performance? Please help me if you can.

Regards,
Rajib

I have assembled and flow the Dolphin and the Decathlon. I would recommend Phoenix planes to anyone interested in sport flying. They're not the lightest planes on the market, but the quality is definitely there.

Hi Rajib, I hope you're enjoying shopping for your Phoenix Models Funstar 3D ARF. You should find either the .46 AX two-stroke or the F56-a four-stroke from O.S. Max to be ideal engines for the Funstar 3D. You could use the .55 AX two-stroke or the FL-70 four-stroke if you'd like, but the smaller displacement engines should provide enough power to pull straight up from a hover. An APC 12x4 propeller would be a good 3D prop for the .46 AX. The F56-a would probably turn a 13x4 well.

Good luck and good shopping!

Thank you……………
I have decided to buy Phoenix Funstar 3D with O.S. 46AX ABL engine as per your recommendation. But about the propeller I have some questions. I have found 4 propellers which are 12x4. Please tell me which one is the best.

1) APC 12x4 Sport Propeller: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMJ90&P=7

2) Zinger 12x4 Pro Zinger Wood Propeller: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXESM2&P=7

3) Zinger 12x4 Wood Propeller: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLG20&P=7

4) Master Airscrew 12x4 K Series G/F Nylon Propeller: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXEXD4&P=7

Also I would like to know why 12x4 propeller, why pitch is so less? I am asking about this because I have no idea about 3D models, I have learn 3D model flying on R/C Flight Simulator G4. But in real life it will be my first 3D model so I am looking for best suggestions from all of you since you people are experienced in 3D flying many years.

O.S. recommended propellers for 46AX ABL: 10.5x6, 11x6-8, 12x6-7, use 10x6 for break-in.
This propeller recommendation chart I have found on Tower Hobbies website.

I've assembled 3 Phoenix models and seen a number of others. None were 3D models. But all were heavier than advertised. And 3D models benefit from extra power because they often need it. My opinion is that a .56 four stroke would not be enough. I would suggest for a 4stroke, most models advertised for .46s would need at least a .70 four stroke.

You may not need the muffler but it's up to you. Of all the Phoenix planes I have my favorites are still the Strega and Dolphin.

We race the Stega's at our field. Put YS 1.10s, build up firewall, landing gear bays and horizontal stab, and go really fast. I take the stock canapy off and replace with a real p-51 canapy.
