From: Akron, OH,
I am building a Dura-Plane 40 trainer for a winter plane and there is no saddle for the wing to set in,It just sets on top of the plane so I was thinking of putting a couple of dowel pins in the front and rear of the wing and down into the fuselage to help keep the wing straight.
Is this a good or bad idea????????

It's not necessary. With 8 to 10 rubber bands, it won't move. Besides, if you have a cartwheel type landing, having the wing pinned in place will cause severe damage. The stock wing with just rubber bands would twist and allow the wing to come off, preventing any serious damage to the wing.
