Geistware,
Why?
Geistware,
Why?
The complaint about the older (not the recently introduced) Cermark Sukhoi had to do with the inexpensive covering jobs and inadequate landing gear bracing. A buddy and I have 2 each. These old Sukhois, with a little paint, bracing and better hardware, are awesome flying, fast machines. We run 91 FX's in them. We bought the first ones because the cost was $120. Well worth it. I understand they were much more expensive when first introduced. (I bought Geistware's from him for $50)
Not for slow flying, though.
Good luck,
Dave Olson

Dave, I am glad that you liked the plane.
It was good that I found someone that could put it to good use!
WHy not send or post pictures of it!

Their Javelin is a very nice piece of airframe--light, priced right and a winner aerodynamically. I would not trust factory labor to install servos and control hookups on my plane. I wanted my own color scheme, so I stripped their covering off, opened the bottom of the fuse to put in my own elevator pushrod. I was happy with what I found under the covering, and from a workmanship point of view the covering job was quite decent. I've seen their full assembled package Bobcat fly--it flew fine, but I still don't like a factory set-up product.

Uh Huh, I too bought one of the "OLD" Soukoi ones. I got so discouraged with the crappy wood, bad glue joints, and misfitting parts, it still hangs on the wall, unfinished. [:'(]

Ordered a Cermark Javelin 14 days ago. UPS flexed the box and crushed the fuse. Called Cermark, they sent out another(UPS AGAIN), with return postage for the first one.
The Second ARF arrived yesterday, this one was damaged as well. In fact, it was damaged the exact same way. Looks like UPS is bending the boxes. The fuse is thicker than the wing, so it gets crushed. Wing and other parts are OK.
UPS is killing the mail order ARF business! I guess they will have to put plywood sheets on top and bottom to get one here in one piece.

I have about a dozen flights on my new Javelin, or, at least, I think it's a Javelin? The covering
scheme doesn't match the ad on their website or the artwork on the box it was delivered in.
No problem, I like this color scheme better. The quality of the arf is excellent and it was a breeze to assemble. Flys great with a OS 46.

Alan,
What's the differance between the new and old Pitts? I'm gonna dust off a friends that has been sitting and get it flying again after about 2 years of storage. Any experiance with the old one?

When I lived in Iowa...the UPS boxes came through unscathed... and Fed-Ex boxes looked like they'd been run over by the trucks.[&:]

Here is a Build and Fly Thread on the Banchee E-3D:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...54#post2063354
And here is another on the Freedom 3D:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...hreadid=197916
I have built and flown both of them, and the quality has been uniformly excellent.
and they are both great 3D aircraft...
The Banchee is based on Gary Wrights improvements to the original E3D.
Regards,
Harley
