For a 40 sized aerobatic plane it's pretty hard to beat IMHO

I'm so tired of Extras, Edges, and Caps I think I'd vote for anything else.
For the out of the ordinary, Kangke Monocoupe
For areobatic, Funtana or U can do

Every one loves there own plane... My vote goes to Sportsman aviation WACO 60 was On sale for $200... Throw in a Saito 100 and I'm in heaven... Also for a first plane or something easy to fly with a little style the SF Eindecker $119 put in a 61 fs magnum

Composite-ARF 2.6m Extra 330L in my opinion is the nicest ARF period. I'll give you guys my list of planes I owned this year.
1. Dave Patrick 330L Brison 3.2
2. H9 Extra 330L 3w 100ib2
3. H9 Funtana OS 70
4. H9 Sukhoi SU-31 3w 100ib2
last, and let me tell you all, this one takes the cake hands down, and broke the bank with out a doubt.
5. Composite-ARF 330L DA100
SWEET!!!!!!

I'm riding the GP Shoestring "love train" but I'm not sure if the plane is a 2003 release. The SS has it all. Ease of assembly, beautiful lines and moments and point and you're there flying.

rcflyer I traded an E-MAXX rc truck for the Shoestring and thats the way it came. Probably in the spring I will add one. I have to finish my BIPLANE too with a pilot. I live in Upstate Y and was more concerned with flying at the end of the season. Next is Floats or skis so I can fly in snow.

My four faves:
Pacific Aerosport Laser 40 and 60 sizes, Impeccable construction, excellent flyers
Vector Flight, 66 inch Extra 300s, beautiful airplane, fine flyer, great value, superb customer service
GP Shoestring (2002) enough has been said, It's all true

I would think these 12 would make a good poll;
1. Top Flite 1/5 Mustang
2. H9 Mustang 1.50
3. GP Extra 300 Wagstaff (wins over the H9 80" cap because of the removable wings)
4. GP Christian Eagle Bipe
5. Aeroworks Ultimate (quality)
6. H9 Ultimate (price)
7. H9 Cessna 1.50
8. World Models Extra 80"
9. Composite-.com Extra 330L 2.3m
10. GP Gee Bee
11. Wild Hare Edge 540T
12. Sig Rascal 110

I own both the Funtana and the GP Patty Extra and I would say for Fit and Finish, the GP Patty Wagstaff Extra wins. The Funtana really gets my blood flowing though. 82 flights and counting on the Funtana and I love it. It warms me up before I fly Patty.
Cheers,

A late entry for the 2003 year has to be mentioned.
Sig 4* 40 ARF.
This Arf is going to be one of the hotest sellers out there. As you know many people move into the 4* as there seond plane. It's for good reasons too. How many of you guys voting for the Funtana, Wagstaff, Eagle or what ever have flown a 4*? I'm sure a very large percentage of you have. Yes, the other planes have allot going for them but nothing can beat the 4* as what has to be one of the most popular second planes.
Just my 2 cents.

It looks as if all agree!
2003 was the best year for ARF's!
What does this year hold?
What would we like to see this year in a ARF?
Maybe some RTF's?
Unpack, charge, fuel and fly?
I know some trainers like that, but some big Aero's, Warbirds, ect.
What do you think?

I think that the point is you can buy an awsome ARF now a days for peanuts. It's impossible to make one the ARF of the year, they all fall in different catagories of engine, style and type. I look at my 1/3 PITTS and think it's great but I also look at my GSP ZERO kit and feel the same. The point is not all people do the same spectrum of the hobby, I like scale, biplane, sport, aerobatic, ect, ect. I have no single favorite among them, they all bring me enjoyment when flying them. To rate the worst ARF is a lot eaiser.
Just my thought.[:-]
