Default Recovered UCD3D

Well, everyone has had their U-Can_do 3d's for awhile now. Had to finally recover and repair mine. Let see some pics of recovered or modified UCD3D's. I'll start with mine. Arguably te ugliest UCD3D around. The picture doesn't do the covering justice. It is flourescent orange. The bed of my truck actually glows when the plane is in it. [8D]

Thanks! Flew it Saturday right at dusk. It shows up like a light bulb even in dim light. Exactly what I was going for.

Robotech - that covering scheme just cries out for some tigerstripes.

Here's my first UCD3D.

10 seconds after liftoff on the maiden flight: (reversed ailerons)

Approx. a month-and-a-half later:

Hey, I crashed my UCD as well, but not as severe. It gravitated toward the dirt ground when the engine runs out of fuel at a 5' wall entry. It only damage the fuselage forward of the wing LE.

My question is, how do you make sure things are straight when you repair? There is no print to cut the template out of.

If you will notice in the background of the second pic I have already tigerstriped my SS60 though it is a "normal" orange. The UCD3D is a very bright flourescent orange though for some reason my camera won't capture the difference between the two.

Great job with the repairs and recovering on yours. It's amazing you could get the wing fixed that well as I'm sure you noticed there isn't a whole lot of wood in there.

That is about one of the ugliest ucd I have seen. I am sure you don't have an airplane that can keep up with a smaller ss. The Tiger II is nothing compared to a hooker.[:@]

I didn't do the repairs. I was planning on pulling my gear and dumping it, but one of my clubmates wanted the wreckage.

the rest, as they say, is the rest.

Nice work.

This isn't the best picture but I'll try to get some better ones up later. This was a post crash recover job. However, it doesn't make me fly any better !
