Hope to test fly tommor...hope flying charateristics are better than kit desighn.had a few issues on assembly. the Extreme 300 is a lot better kit imo. kit designed seemed rushed and not thought out well. POSIMOSF

Hope your test flight goes better than my experieces. I had 4 wild, nearly uncontrollable flights followed by a bad crash. On the 5th flight we decided there was too much elevator throw. Toned them down and the best pilot at our field took it up and then down. We then decided that it had to be way nose heavy even though it was balanced at the aft CG of 5 1/4".

Called Goldberg who weren't a lot of help. The guy there said I hadn't read the manual on the proper CG. He claimed that it should be 5 1/4 to 6 1/2". The manual clearly states 4 3/4 to 5 1/4" for a starting point. He did say he was flying his with the CG at 6".

After rebuilding and taking some measurements, 6" seems to be a better number. Hope to try it again this weekend with the CG at 5 1/2" and see what happens.

Good Luck

I agree with littlecrankshaft, kit was poorly planned. A few changes in the tail and it would be a differnt animal. Its hard to believe it will fly any better than the extreme 300, I have two of them and they are beautys. Too much money!!!!

Flew my 540 Friday, boy was I disappointed !!! Airplane is to heavy, can't get cg within limits without adding a ton of weight. I'm running a fx 46 with mac muffler, standard servos, nichel-metal battery , 700 jr receiver with switch, thats all. After 5 or 6 near crashes I gave up.I wish goldberg would have given up before they introduced this pile of Balsa!! They should stick with what works , the extreme 300 is a beautiful flier, I've got two of them and have had no problem. My opinion is to stay away from the 540 lead sled!!!
