If the engine runs well, I would say it's worth at least $275 to $300. If the guy is anxious to sell, you might get it for $200 to $250. I'm assuming that Magnum .52 is a four-stroke. If it's a two-stroke knock about $30 off those prices. I'm no big expert on prices, but that's my opinion.

Ok im new to the flying thing, i just recently bought a alpha trainer and it flies well. i only have a few flights in and im not ready for the second plane yet but im going to go ahead and buy it so i will have it when im ready. My question is this: i dont want something i dont think i can fly and i want something that is capable of many manuvers, im really eyeballing the seagul PC-9 .40 is that a good plane and will it be a good sport flyer for me?

Anyways, back to my question, I think $250 is a fair price, but is that too much ? It is a 4 stroke yes..

Dart373 and backyardkevin - may I suggest that you get someone with plenty of experience from your field, who is also familiar with your flying skills, to help you with these decisions. All to often newer pilots buy an airplane without first asking someone who is more knowledge to help them. RCU is certainly a good place to do this, but a local friend with good experience would be hinestly be able to assit you better. There could be all kinds of things wrong with a used airplane that you may not see coming. Flying skill, likes and dislikes, airplane design, plane and electronics quality/condition, budget and where you want to evolve to in the hobby all play a role in these decisions. Get a friend to help you before you possibly purchase something you may wish to hadn’t. Just my 2 cents and IMHO.

keith, understand and very well taken. Thanks for not flaming. No offense intended and didn't realize the experience level. Good luck with your decision.

The D-VII new was $199.00 and the Magnum 4-stroker can be had for $139.99 new. The Futaba servos, if they are standard, are about $15 each. That's about $400 new. I'd offer him
$200, depending on how good a friend he is!

I had one of these several years ago as a Product Review in the magazine. I used an OS 48 Surpass. Plenty of power, flew nicely, but not a lot of aileron control. It could be fixed with a little tinkering.

The worst part was that the landing gear had absolutely ZERO flex in it. The wheels were spoked and had thin rubber tires and the wire gear was welded at all joints. Landings had to be made gently, otherwise off you go back into the air again.

I sold mine, complete except for a receiver, for about $350,00, but it had only 5-6 flights on everything
