Default Sig Cap 231

I've just ordered the Sig cap 231. This is my 4th plane and will be my first Cap. Can anyone offer building tips , recommended servos, flight tips, reviews, etc. I am aware that this plane is proned to flutter would like to learn more about ways to prevent it. I will be using the saito 180 engine.

I realize there are several threads on this plane already but they seemed to drift off topic.

Thanks for your input

The Cap is a good light wieght plane and will be really nice with the 180. The flutter can be a problem if aloowed to build up to much speed in vertical descents...so get off the gas in a dive. The plate that the aileron servos mount to are a little to flimsy and I think I used 3/32 ac plywood and I also strengthened all the area where the servo plate sits...good common sence will go a long way when installing the servos...if it l;ooks to weak...it probably is. Also the area where the wing bolts blocks attach to the fuse is a weak area so look it over real good and strengthen if needed. Sig may have fixed some of the weak areas ...I had one of the very first planes and it is hard for me to remember everything I did but I did not have anything fall off the plane like others did . Keep the c/g on the nose heavy side and don't try to milk it in like you might do other planes because it might snap out with NO warning on landing. A good thing to do is keep the control throws to the easy side and move your way up to lots of deflection that way you can get an idea of how the plane is going to react. I found that if I tried to pull a hard loop it would snap out at the top and bottom of a loop but this is anaerobatic plane that is known for it's good snapping ability.
There are a bunch of guys that have this plane and I am sure they will chime in here real soon but I would give the search on this plane a real good reading because there is several years worth of material on it already. I plan to buy another one someday because I really did enjoy this plane. it did some wicked inverted flat spins and tumbled like few other planes I have flown so use the left stick for good throttle management and not a toogle switch and respect what it can do. Keep the plane several mistakes high until you are used to it and do some stall test to see when and where it will stall.
Have fun and I used a 180 with an APC 16/8-17/6 with 30% fuel.
P.S....try not to scrimp on the servos....good quality servos can really be felt with this plane.
