Hi all
I am finishing up my Funtana and want to use Du-Bro Ball Links on both ends of the rudder,ailerons, and the elevator. Just don't know where to get threaded rods on both ends .Any help will be appreciated.Or any other setup ideas.Thanks .

My Feedback: (9)
Please don't use the Z bend.The Aile will get loose in about 30 flights. I used a ball link on the servo arm and soldered a steel clevis on the control horn end. I have seen some control horns at the LHS with a ball link built in. I may try those in the next project. By the way...Are you using the longer servo arms on the servos? I had to in order to get the required throw.

Thanks for the info.I don't even have my servos in yet so don't know.The review I read on RCU they used ball links on both ends.My problem is I can't find any push rods threaded on both ends.Do you think it is ok to use threaded rod .Thanks.

Thanks for the picture.That clears up alot.I am pretty new to the whole rc world so this forum is helping alot.I feel comfortable with my flying but it will be a while before I use full deflection on this bird.Thanks again.

here is my elevator setup.. This is my second Funtana... I had problems with the 2-56 rods on my first one so i went a bit overboard for this one.
I am trying something different here. I soldered a control horn onto the elev joiner wire (should have made longer). There is a picece of carbon tube to take the stress on the joiner wire where it goes through the fuse. The pushrod is threaded 4-40 with a carbon fibre sleeve over it and dubro 4-40 ball links on each end.
Notice the extra control horn?? on my first funtana i had a HS81mg on each elevator whick worked fine.... If this setup didnt work, i will use dual servos on this one too, so I put the control horns in before assembly to assure alignment with each other.
Rudder and ailerons are set up the same

psyco, no i did away with the braces.... on my first one the braces didnt last long and i had a horizontal stab failure (ripped off in flight).
So on this one as well as my first I took it upon myself to rebuild the horizontal stab with hardwood trailing edge and put the carbon support rods into the structure of the stab to give it strength. This worked very well on my first funtana and should be just as strong if not stronger.
PlagueWielder;
I used the heavy duty ball links from du-bru - the 4-40 size ones..

You can stiffen it with a sleeve but then it's added weight.

Without wantin' to sound a little anal... from the picture shown here, you guys have some real nasty geometry going one with your push rod angles and your servo arm to control horn angles chaps!
Non of that is any good at all.
The rudder set up is by far the best of the bunch.
