I have heard of them breaking mid air, bla bla bla. Is there a polymer mount or plastic mount that fits right onto the factory holes ? I dont want to start drilling holes in the new plane. Or should I just run the stock heavy Aluminum mount ? I have the .40 size plane, with .61 Magnum 4 stroke. Its going to be nose heavy enough as it is..

I used the Great Planes nylon mount on my US 60 and it lined up perfectly witht he factory holes.

If not do this: Get a Dave Brown glass mount sized for your engine. Put the two mounts back to back and mark the holes from the old mount's firewall holes to the new mount. Viola!! You don't have to screw around with the firewall and blind nuts. I got this idea from another RCU forumite after I already redrilled my firewall. DDOOHHHHH !!!

Joe, we have a Dave Brown mount, and the legs are right smack dab in the way of making new holes. I looked at that idea. I think I am going to brave the stock mount. If it was terrible, you wouldnt think they would include it in the kit.
