Hello people-
I want to let you know that this plane is a real "Gem" to fly. I couldn't find any bad habits with this plane. I had to actually force it to do something bad. The only gripe is the mechanical retracts are junk so I changed to Robarts for $169.00. It is pricey but, in my oppinion, it absolutrely worth it. If you were debating one of these, don't, it is truely worth the price and you won't be disappointed.

My WM 80" Zero came out at 17.25 pounds using a G-38 plus Century Jet retracts. No added weight needed (the G-38 took care of that)
May be flying this weekend.

Looking at all the photos I have of the full scale Zero, the scissors face outboard with the gear lowered and they face down with the gear retracted.
The ones on the Century Jet gear are quite large and look awkward.
The offset wheel fork goes against the inside of the wing top sheeting when retracted.

I flew mine for the 1st time this weekend at a warbird event in Port St. Lucie, FL. What a great plane. Mine is set up with a G-38 and Sping Air retracts. My 1st attempt was a week ago and the landing gear ripped out of the plane after flying for 3 seconds and 2 feet off of the ground. I rebuilt the entire area where the retracts mount with birch plywood and extensive bracing. It's been great since. This plane is notorious for having a weak gear blocks; even after I initialy reinforced them with epoxy. But all that melted away when we flew about 10 birds int the sky at the same time and 3 of them were Zeros.
