Finally got around to flying the Cessna this weekend. Very stable plane. I added flaps as some on RCU have advised and I never used them. There has been a lot of talk regarding tip stalls on this plane. I simply turned the aileron clevis 1 turn and raised the ailerons just a hair. No problems!
Very nice flying plane, looks great as well

Glad to hear you like it. I like mine too. I have mine powered with a magnum 52 4 stroke and it has more than enough power. What do you have yours powered with? I havent had any tip stall prob's thank the Lord. It does however like to glide.

I have an OS 52 4 stroke in it. You're right it does like to glide.
Yours looks nice with the struts, I have not installed the struts on mine, maybe the extra drag would help. I see you are not using the wheel pants, neither am I. They look nice though

Hi, I have one still in the box. Have you had problems with the stock nose gear? I will be flying off of well mowed grass, however, I have heard a few things that question the integrity of the stock nose gear.

I tried wheel pants on one plane, my super sportster 40 and maybee it was just the kind of plane but mine nosed the ground when I landed and it was a nice landing on packed pea gravel and poked holes in my wing. So as for me I probly wont be using them. I do however really like the way they look. Like I said, it might have been the plane. It has very flemsy landing gear. These cessnas might not have that kind of prob.

HILL202 and Crashland and any other GP Cessna fliers,
I am close to mounting my OS.52 in this plane. How have you mounted your engines? Are the cylinder heads exposed? How is the cooling during a hard engine run? How much have you opened up the bottom for cooling? Do you think if I mounted mine so there is NO cylinder hole would I have cooling problems? I have opened up two air intakes aside the spinner and will also probably add a smallish opening in the front........IF I open up some air exhaust holes in the bottom should I be OK.
Thanks for any responses.

Congratulations on your successful maiden flight and new plane. It's always great to have the first one behind you. great pictures and nice job. Looks really nice. I caught a few photographs of one that belongs to a buddy of mine in our club. He really likes his.

I have one powered by a Saito 70. It flies well even after tangling with heavy weeds which separated the wing and one attempted flight with aileron servos set backwards. Easy to repair. The noise gear is soft. I just straightened it yesterday in preparation for the third season. It's a good plane. No tip stall tendancy noticed. No tips either. They came off with early misadventures. Wheel pants were removed and larger wheels were added for operation off grass. In fact I have a backup on the shelf if / when it's needed. I'm not a fan of GP kits, but have been happy with several of their ARFs.

No problems with cooling so far. I've got to get the wheel pants put back on. That one looks good with them. I'll have to change the Fults nose gear to put the nose wheel wheel pant on.
Good luck with yours!
