The newer ARF designs are excellent but the hardware as most manufactures is garbage, other than that the F/g work is excellent and they switched to built-up wings instead of foam and balsa, nothing wrong with foam but you can really save weight if you have it built up.

I had one of their P26's.

Nice model, but the left and right undercarriage wires were not the same measurements. Had to remake the pair. Bad Factory Q.C. Horrible job remaking them. I can think of better things to do.

The supplied "Flying Wire" in the kit was junk. I used 10 kilogram nylon covered wire fishing trace.
Would I own another one? Probably not if I had to remake the undercarriage again.

I know that most arf's will have their share of problems out of the box. Other than the hardware, which I change out anyway, but how do they stack up with the top Mfr's of arf's out there. I like the new arf's they have out now. Do the new arf's have built up balsa. I do not like foam core wings.

Thanks

The planes are put together well but the covering used is not what I would consider high quality and is not available over the counter. Some of the planes i.e. the Katana had poorly designed wings but that appears to have been addressed in the latest shipment. All in all I think they are a pretty good deal for the money and fly very well. I have the Katana (old version) and am considering the 72" Edge. If you are experienced and examine it thuroughly I think you will like one of their planes. Like any other ARF, you need to examine it completely and understand that it may require a little work to get it to fly safely.

Fatboy

I reckon (sorry Australian for believe) that GSP/CMP or whatever make a really good product. There was a serious issue with the earlier wings on the Katana, but the latests offerings are vastly improved. I am not a great builder, but try very hard to fly the pants of anything once it is in the air. I have 3 GSP/CMP planes. They are built better than I could dream of doing, their covering, whilst not pleasing all, is again vastly better than I could do and they build straight and fly superbly. All this for a fantastic price.

I'm convinced

Cheers

Phil
